In a recent homily on the gospel passage where Jesus has the discipline go fishing and they catch a ton of fish even though they had been fishing all night and caught nothing, the priest pointed out something I'd never noticed. Jesus asked Peter to do something quite ordinary.
Not "go get martyred." Just "go fishing."
So what might He be asking me to do today that is quite ordinary? (And why do I always assume He wants me to do stuff that is really hard and that I don't want to do?)
I think it was Mother Teresa who said, "We can't do great things in this life. We can only do little things with great love."
