Weekly Round-Up

My brother Mark and his lovely fiancee Maria were in town, bring with them lots of fun.

... my husband and I joined Mom, Mark and Maria in doing our first escape room.  Lots of fun, even though we didn't come even close to solving the puzzle.  I'd like to try doing another one some time.

... we had a surprise birthday party for Maria

.... since we were all together, we took advantage of the moment to take some photos.

Truly blessed in my family and grateful to God for giving them to me!

A Wooden Puzzle Book

I just thought this was a cool concept.

Here is an article and here is the YouTube video.

And, yes, I wouldn't mind getting one for my birthday!

Fun with Easter Eggs!

It was so nice to do something tactile and creative for a change!  (And it was fun to do an arty project with my husband.)

I used a Q-tip for better control of where the dye was going.

This one is my husband's.  Isn't it lovely?

I used all of the colors in this one.  It is my favorite.

I think this one is a dinosaur egg...

I used chapstick as a 'resist' on this one instead of the wax crayon that I couldn't really see.

I think it came out rather well.

Thanks to Mom, I have a cookie from Auntie M. to eat.  I've been keeping in the fridge to await this glorious day!

Happy Easter!

HE IS RISEN!!!

Alleluia!

Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer

Last year on this date Belovedest and I went to the Stuhr Museum.  I'll be honest--April is not a good time to go.  It was pretty much in minimal mode, and the living history part of the museum was completely nonexistent.  It was a kind of eerie ghost town.

But we enjoyed our visit nonetheless, and we snapped some photos.  Enjoy!

First, visiting Grandma Shirley:

Improv 101

I went to my first improv class yesterday and it was a lot of fun!

It's harder than it looks, though.

There's a chance our class might perform at the SCC Talent Night May 24.  Stay tuned....

Happily Home Again

It's good to be back.  Especially after a return trip that included a mad dash through the Denver airport in order to catch a connection, and all the stress that that entails..

Today, we put the very first seeds in the garden: carrots.  Oh, and we worked on the border for our garden until we ran out of free and found bricks.  I am thinking that we may just buy some more from the EcoStore to finish them off, unless anyone has any brick lying around that they want to get rid of....

I'm in Portland!

...and I don't have my camera.

Does it help if I describe it as like Prague, only more industrial and in more of a hurry?

I'm at a conference for work and enjoying it, but boy am I exhausted!  Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight.  Last night I accidentally set the alarm to go off at 3 am.  Which it did.
