Sunday Thoughts
[St.] John [of the Cross] and many of the Saints point out that God may then withdraw the feelings and sensations that initially encouraged us, in order to give us the opportunity to more maturely, deeply, and purely seek and follow Him in faith, for his own sake rather than our own gratification. God does this, of course, with great wisdom and love.
