A Fishy Font Fate

In order to keep the font Doves from falling into the hands of his business partner after his death, its creator Thomas Cobden-Sanderson dropped it into the Thames, bit by bit, over a period of three years.  It was never recovered from its watery grave (pp. 86-87).
